Doomscroll for iPhone and Apple Watch · Last updated 4 August 2026

The short version: Doomscroll collects nothing about you. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no trackers. It never connects to the internet or to any server, including mine. Your high scores are saved on your own device and go nowhere else.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to Doomscroll, the game app for iPhone and Apple Watch distributed through the Apple App Store. The browser-based version of the game played on this website is a separate thing and is not covered by this page.

Information I collect

None. The app does not ask for, gather, or transmit any personal information. Specifically, it does not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, location, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, health or fitness data, or any record of how you use the app.

There is no sign-up, no login, and no user account of any kind.

Information stored on your device

The app saves a small amount of gameplay data locally on your iPhone or Apple Watch — your best score, and a few settings the game needs to remember between sessions.

This data stays on your device. It is not personal information, it is never sent anywhere, and neither I nor anyone else can see it. Deleting the app removes it permanently.

Network connections

The app makes no network connections at all. It contains no code for contacting a server, downloading content, or uploading anything. It works identically whether your device is online or in airplane mode.

The one exception involves no data and no internet: if you have an Apple Watch paired to your iPhone that does not yet have Doomscroll installed, the app may offer a button that opens Apple's own Watch app on your phone. To do this it checks, on your device only, whether a watch is paired and whether the app is already installed on it. Nothing is transmitted, and this information is not stored or shared.

Third parties

The app contains no third-party software development kits, no analytics or crash reporting services, no advertising networks, and no social media integrations. No data is shared with, sold to, or disclosed to anyone, because no data exists to share.

Apple collects its own information when you purchase or download an app from the App Store, and that is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not this one. I receive only anonymous, aggregated sales figures from Apple, which cannot identify individual customers.

Children

Doomscroll is suitable for general audiences and does not collect information from anyone, including children under 13. Because nothing is collected from any user, there is nothing to request, review, or delete.

Your choices

Since no information leaves your device, there is nothing for me to provide, correct, or erase on request. If you want to clear the data the app has stored locally, delete the app from your iPhone or Apple Watch.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects privacy, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change. Any version of the app that collects data would say so here first.
